Hi everyone,
I recently had a client on Upwork who shared a Zoom meeting link, including the meeting password, directly on the Upwork chat. I let the client know about Upwork’s guidelines regarding sharing external links and emails before a contract is approved, but they insisted on using Zoom.
I’m wondering if it’s okay to join this meeting or if it’s better to keep communication strictly on Upwork until the contract is approved. Has anyone had a similar experience, or could you advise on the best approach here to stay within Upwork’s policies?
Thanks for any insights!

Insist on using Upwork's version of ZOOM until you and the client have an Upwork contract in place. Share this link, if you need to:

After that, communicate however you and the client agree is best.

It is not okay to violate the Terms of Service just because the client insists.
