Hi, Is it possible to deposit a lump sum amount and pay from that for tasks rather than every time a credit card transactions?

Hi Simon,
Thank you for reaching out to us. I would like to clarify that it's not possible to just deposit your funds to your client account balance. If you want it just for one contract, you could just do Escrow. You can find more information in this help article.
Additionally, I will share your feedback with our team for further review and consideration.

Hi Nikola,
Thanks for your follow-up.
I meant not depositing in the clients account but having the deposit in Upwork and redeem from it for funding upcoming tasks. Similar concept has been developed by similar platforms like below:
Would such thing possible in Escrow?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Simon,
Thank you for following up. I would like to clarify that such feature isn't currently available on Upwork. It's only possible to fund a specific contract using the fixed-price escrow model. You can find more information in this help article.

This might solve the bank chargeback problem. Upwork will be the one who have more control. Not sure if a new set of permissions from the government will be needed to "collect people's money" like in here.

Sounds good idea 😃 Upwork can improve this type of feature within escrow...
