Fixed Price Contract Expired

I made an agreement for a fixed price contract in October of 2015 (!). Due to my illness I was not able to provide the information for the project to begin. I had 50% in escrow. What happens to that money? Is it refunded to me? I have told the design firm that I want to rehire them and am now well enough to provide them with what they need so that they can work on my project.

Hi Susan,

I see the contract was closed today and the Escrow refund request was sent to the freelancer. Freelancer now has 7 days to respond to the request, after which time the remaining balance in Escrow will automatically be refunded to your payment method.

Hi Susan,

If you are willing to rehire the design firm, why are you asking for the refund? Just re-assign the work on the same project. Refunding your money will badly hurt the agency/freelancer job score. If you do not want to work with the company, that's fine. You should ask for a refund, but if you plan to work together, keep working on the same contract.
