How do I hire a freelancer on an ongoing basis?

I want to hire someone to do regular work. My initial job posting will only let me hire them for the ONE project, but the work I have will be regular and ongoing, not just the one gig. But I can't figure out how to make it an ongoing hire. Please help!

This is very simple.

Post a job and select the "hourly" option instead of fixed-price.

Hello, I am a freelancer not a client but I have a fixed rate job that is left open to add milestones for every task... so I guess that should work too, again I am not a client to know how it works from the other side of the curtain

You're right.

I recommend clients use an hourly contract if it is their intention to hire a freelancer for ongoing work.

BUT:

A client can ALSO use a fixed-price contract, keep the contract open, and simply assign new milestones as the need arises.
