Here in Portugal in the 10th of June we celebrate Luis de Camões, a poet from the 16th century, along with all the portuguese communities around the world.
For what i know Portugal is the only Country that has a holliday celebrating a poet.
If i'm wrong please reply and correct me.
If you think that the written word should be a matter of national celebration, please tell in your view what is the poet/writer should be celebrated in your country in an holliday.
I'm asking this because i'm really curious in reading what can be the most representative autors by culture or country, and i'm tired of just picking a google search. I would really would like to have a first hand opinion.
