Account on hold

My Upwork account has been put on hold because my passport (verification ID) recently expired (29 March 2020).  Owning to COVID-19 and lockdown measures I have not been able to renew my passport/NIC. Would Upwork consider these as exceptional times and get me running again on Upwork, at least till April 24th (by when it is expected that government agencies would reopen in my country).
