I am in the process of selecting a language for my next web application and am stuck between Golang vs Java. Both seem strong, but I'd love some advice from experienced developers.

Since I have some Java experience but am new to Golang, I am also curious about the learning curve. How difficult is it to pick up Golang compared to Java, and can I expect to become proficient enough for efficient development in a reasonable timeframe?
