Connects spend on jobs asking to shift from Upwork to another platform

Hey Upworkers!

I have noticed a lot of scam jobs listed. Everytime I spend my connects by applying, they ask me to contact them via Telegram or another website. My question is, what about the connects that I spent trying to land a job thinking it was real?
Also, their payment methods are verified too, so they make you believe they are 100% legit. Is there a way to counter this or get my connects back?

Have you flagged the job as scam?
When Upwork closes a job for being a scam, you get your connets back.

No I have not. But I would try to do that right now by finding the job. Thankyou for your help!
