I'm trying to calculate whether my current earnings for my client is enough to make it to 5% before the change in fee structure.
So if I have $5,000 gross earnings for one client, do I have to deduct the total fees from Upwork?

The 5% rate applies to projects over $10,000, not $5,000, and it's on your gross earnings per client (not deducting the Upwork fee).

Hi Giorgio Antonio,
The Upwork freelancer fee is not deducted yet from your total earnings. If the client pays you $5000, we will still deduct the applicable fees from your payment. You can check the deducted amount on your transaction history page for reference. You can also check this help article for more information.

Yup I understand it applies to the $10,000, I just needed to know if what counts towards the $10k goal is gross earnings. 🙂
