I agreed with an employer for payment of half the price. Thats ok. But how to do it on upwork?

You may want to share this help article with your client for more information and detailed instructions on how to release less than the full amount for a milestone. 

Please be reminded that the remaining amount in escrow can be used to fund the next milestone. If you and your client decide to end this contract now, the client needs to request an escrow refund for the remainder.
