I worked with a client for a few months late last year, work wrapped up and we lost contact for a while. He's got back in touch regarding a new project, but since then my hourly rate has gone up and I did actually pre-warn him about this happening back when we were in contact about the first project.
I'm now realising that there's no option to increase the rate from my previous rate to my new rate in the contract, how can I do that? Does the client need to send me a new contract, or can I do it? Because I'm not willing to work at my old rate anymore and me and the client have agreed that.
Thanks,
Scott.

Update the rate on your Profile.
Nothing else needed until you get a new Contract.

The rate has been updated on my profile for a while now, at least a month or two. Does this mean the client will have to open a new contract at the new rate? Or can I do that. This was mainly my question as I want to make this transition as easy as poss for the client so I can get started on the work quickly.

It is editable. Start contract with new rate or just edit rate at current contract.
