If a client doesn’t respond and I file a dispute can they leave a negative review to retaliate?

I have a client. They aren't responsive after submitting my work. They were happy with the initial samples. I'd like to seek help thru up work but am afraid the client could retaliate and hurt my feedback. Is that possible?

If it was a fixed price gig and you have submitted work through Upwork, they don't have to respond.   Just wait 14 days and if the milestone was funded you will get paid.

If hourly contract and you followed all the necessary steps like tracking time, having enough activities and meaningful memos,  you will get paid for your time.

In either case buyers are not obligated to respond.
