When I am on the Find Work view, even if I am not in the U.S. Only view, it seems to put local jobs at the top of the feed. These are getting prioritized even if they are 5 days old, over new postings that were created 5 minutes ago. It's getting to be a nuisance to have to click through them to get them out of the way.
Does anyone know how to disable this?
Thanks,
Dan

Hi Dan,
Let me check with the team about this feature and how jobs should show when switching between feeds. I'll post an update once I have more information.
Thanks!

Dan,
I have more information. Currently, Local Jobs will show in My Job Feed. We do appreciate feedback as we are continuously working on improving the experience. Additionally, you can save more searches with relevant keywords and filters to see more jobs in your feed.

Why are local jobs nested at the top of my Job Feed, even after I have passed them over or even tried given them a thumbs down in order to get rid of them? They don't go away and it's just kind of annoying.
Texas is a very large State in case you guys at Upwork haven't noticed. So "Local" doesn't mean you can just get in your car and drive there in an hour or 2.
I wish you guys would fix that please. The new "local job" feature really doesn't work.

Hi Logan,
Thanks for posting your feedback. I've merged your post with another thread about Local Jobs to keep feedback consolidated in one place. We're discussing it with the team internally and will be making improvements based on user's feedback and other stats and information available to us internally.
Additionally, to clarify, the Thumbs Down feature is used to help us improve your job search and job feeds by collecting information about why you don't like certain jobs. It doesn't, however, remove those jobs from the feed. It does collapse them and you can keep them collapsed or expand them.

I would also add that for me, "New York" is not a local job - it's a four hour drive away from my office in Maryland.

Valeria,
I have been collapsing them, but it still takes up a lot of space due to the number of them. If it would remove from my feed completely, that would be a viable option.
In addition to what Mike said, and I know I'm not representative of the entire Upwork community, but I am a part-time freelancer. There are literally zero situations in where I would actually travel to a client site(local or not) to get a job done. These local jobs will have a 100% rejection rate from me. Even better would be able to have a profile setting where I can not have these show up in my feed at all. They are for someone else to take.
Dan

Hello - I've bookmarked /ab/find-work/ because I want to view my usual job feed. Every time I visit this it now forces me onto /ab/find-work/domestic and I have to click away. Is this being forced onto me because it's a "new feature"? Can I disable this?

It's a "feature" that US freelancers have been subjected to for quite awhile now, and UK freelancers are now experiencing its "joy."
Many of us have asked many many times to be able to set our own defaults in what we see in the job feed, but to no avail.

I do appreciate "local jobs". However, once I apply to one or give it a thumbs down, it should go away and not be given precedent and overriding other newer jobs.

Valeria,
Are there any updates on disabling this annoying "feature"? Seems like nearly 2 months have passed and it's still a problem.
