My payment was refunded

I am needing some help and advice on what to do about my situation right now. My case is that my payment was refunded back to my client due to my lack of a TIN number (for tax) and that I just got it earlier. Now my contract with my client has been paused by Upwork for an investigation. I was hoping that somehow I'd get my payment because I can't contact my client now. Badly need the money.
