Refer a Freelancer button is not showing

Good day.

I received an invite but I won't be able to accept the offer so I want to refer my friend instead. However, when I try to go to the invitation, the 'Refer a Freelancer' button is missing and when I try to click decline, it doesn't give me an option to refer a freelancer. Attached is the screenshot.

Can somebody help? Am I not allowed to refer anyone or is there something to activate in settings regarding referral? Thank you.

Hi Marianne,

Thank you for your message. I checked the job you are referring to and noticed that the client has set the job to Invite Only. You cannot refer to a project that the client has set as private (by invitation only.)

I see. What is supposed to be the "set-up" then for me to be able to refer a freelancer? I am curious. Thank you

Hi Marianne,

Since the job post is private the freelancer you refer would not be able to see it or have permission to apply. This is why the job post needs to be public in order for you to refer someone. You can learn all about the Refer Another Freelancer feature here.
