If an ODesk Contractor mistakenly charges the wrong # of hours then Odesk will automatically bill the Client on their Credit Card and when you dispute the charge and the Contractor agrees to it, there is a several day waiting period before the Refund is applied to your CCard.
This is not standard billing practice in most industries and is a real turn off.
Can this be remedied soon?

I'm sorry, but there is never a company which gives you a direct refund right away when you purchase a product or are requesting a refund. From my own customer service experiences anywhere, be it a hotel, car rental company, retail store, whatever, I have to wait 2 to 3 business days before I have my refund back on my card. This is common practice. I'm not sure where you might be coming away with the idea that you get funds back immediately, it just doesn't work like that. There is a process. If it causes you confusion then perhaps you should consider paying for work in another way.
