Hello, fellow freelancers & Upwork team,
I am a top-rated plus freelancer in the digital marketing niche and have been using this platform since Odesk days (well, I was active in the last two years only, TBH).
It's a pity that the rich experience we take on Upwork does not apply outside because we have no such evidence apart from just earning certificates. I was hoping Upwork could introduce a feature that enables the employer to issue an experience letter to the freelancers with a quick process of a pre-made template, and the employer has to add their e-signature.
Upwork can add criteria to this as they have multiple badges. For example, Only a job with a project length of 6 months or more can apply to this ETC. This would be beneficial for both the platform & freelancers.
- Freelancers can get an experience letter to use it in the outer world or for visas (Digital Nomad) ETC
- Upwork can reasonably charge a Certificate Issuance Fee
What do you guys think? Is it workable? Can anyone from Upwork's team respond to it?
Thanks,
Faisal

Good idea, we can't leave "gaps" on our CV when bidding in a live setting, for example at a local business.
When I wanted to add my Upwork experience to my portfolio, I created a profile with the relevant skill category and marked projects which fit into that category. Then I printed the public view of my specialist profile into a pdf file, cutting out the blank sections toward the end of the doc.
It's far from a beautiful design, but very informative and gives a good opportunity to talk about your experience, and about contribution to client success in general.
