Tax doubt as a freelancer in Panama

Does anybody know how Upwork handle the tax related theme for people who live in Panama?

I ask because I´m about to start a great offer as a freelancer and I live in Panama, I have seen that for Mexicans, the platform retain 20% of the earnings due to some obligation with the Mexican government or something like that.

As far as I know, they shouldn´t retain any % in my case, does anybody know?

Thank you for your message. We do not retain any taxes for freelancers from Panama at this moment. We always advise checking with an accountant or government website on your country's tax laws.
