Testimonials

Hi, I am new to UpWork, and honoured and happy to be part of this community.

 

I have worked as a freelancer for a while on other platforms, and this says much about my actual profile and skills... But my profile cannot highlight such experience, because, of course, I am new at Upwork...  So I believe being able to somehow include the feedback (reviews) from the clients from other platforms would be perfect to qualify my profile... I would like to ask which is the best and acceptable way to do so...

That’s why we support testimonials, a way to highlight the awesome work you’ve done outside of Upwork with testimonials straight from your clients! When you’ve done a great job, this is a quick, simple way to showcase it, right on your Upwork profile. Please follow these instructions on how to request a testimonial:

 

  1. Go to Settings, then My Profile.
  2. Scroll down to the “Testimonials” section.
  3. Click on “Request a testimonial.”
  4. Enter your client’s contact information, including a link to their LinkedIn account. 

Once you’ve completed your part, we’ll email your request to your client and let you know when we hear back. We wish you the best of luck!

I obtained two testimonials; it was easy to initiate the process. I'm grateful there's an excellent way to get credit for my past work outside Upwork! However, there is a blank image circle next to each testimonial. One of my people had a photo on LinkedIn, but not both. Why are they both without pictures? Why have a circle with no image? Has anyone else who obtained a testimonial experienced this? I don't have a major complaint, but it appears slightly odd to me.

Thank you for your question. I checked and it's by design that we only show generic portraits next to the received testimonials. This is to protect the privacy and identity of your customers who have shared their experiences with you.

It's excellent that Upwork is protecting the privacy and identity of my customers. Why place an empty image circle next to their first names and last initials? No circle would be better than empty ones.

You can request Testimonials by going to Find Work > Profile and clicking on the plus sign or Request a testimonial, from the "Testimonial" section. You can check this help article to learn more.

why I cant see my testimonial requests my client sent the reply but it is still not appeared on my profile.any solution, I cant ask my client to doit again.

Hello, while requesting a testimonial from my client, I added my name instead of putting the client's name in the name field. Is there a way to correct this?

Any boday tell me please after how many days testmonial will approved from Upwork and show on the profile I was request to my client then he give me testimonail but still waiting from the approvment upwrok till not approved and  not showing on my profile

I can see that the most recent one you sent was on August 15, and it can take up to 10 business days for a testimonial to be reviewed. That said, I can see that two others are awaiting your clients' responses, so you may want to check with them if they've responded. Don't hesitate to let us know if you need further assistance. Hi,
I need help changing the "Project Type" name from my past client, I want to change it from "MMNT* - Social Media Network" to "Healthcare & Sports League". Anyone can help me please??

Hi All,

 

I requested a testimonial from an external client on August 8th (this client has a Linkedin account in which I provided). The client responded promptly and provided the requested testimonial on the very same day. However, I have not received any further updates or notifications from the Upwork platform regarding the current status of this testimonial. Please advise!

The Work History section of your profile reflects your experience with Upwork clients, and the Testimonials section is intended to reflect your experience with clients outside of Upwork. That said, we do allow testimonials from clients you've worked with on Upwork.

 

If you're looking to request your clients for testimonials, please follow these steps:

 

  1. Go to Settings, then My Profile
  2. Scroll down to the "Testimonials" section
  3. Click on "Request a testimonial."
  4. Enter your client's contact information, including a link to their LinkedIn account.

I have requested a client testimonial, but it has not yet appeared on my profile. The client has indeed left a testimonial, but I am unsure of the reason for the delay in its display.

Hi Mohammad,

 

I don't see any pending Testimonials on your profile. Do you have a screengrab of the requested Testimonial on your end? Otherwise, you'll need to request a Testimonial by going to your profile home page and click on "Request a testimonial" to begin the process.

Hi Luiggi!

I have requested around 4 or 5 testimonials from past clients outside of upwork, but they all have been rejected with the same automated message: 
"To ensure trust and quality of our marketplace, we can only approve testimonials from clients where we have sufficient evidence that the contact information is valid. Thank you for your understanding. You can try requesting another testimonial from a different client."

 

I provided valid email addreses and linkedin accounts on all instances.

 

I requested one from a current client and saw her fill it out, and as soon as she hit send I got the same "Your testimonial was not approved" message.

 

Could you provide the exact reason they all are rejected? So that my clients can be aware of it and I can get some testimonials approved? It's frustrating that its auto-rejected with no additional information.

My client has submitted the testimonail but i didnt get it on my profile yet. It's been a week now
