Unresponsive client -ignoring messages

Hello, can someone advice me what would be the best option for me here?

4 months ago I started hourly contract with a client for ongoing business. We did few projects in the beginning and the client was really satisfied. He told me he will send me more projects soon and then he disappeared for 3 months. I tried to reach him, but he is ignoring my messages.

I know he is alive and rehired his old designer who was doing the job earlier.

I would like to somehow close the contract withouth doing damage to my profile. After researching options, I found out I can only hurt myself whatever I do. Any suggestions?

Note that currently I don't have any reviews on my profile, since I have been working for the same company for 3 years and the job is stilll going. How will this affect my jss?

Just close the contract. There has been money paid on the contract and by the time you get a JSS you'll have done other jobs anyway.

It'll be OK.

If you have done a large number of contracts, then closing a single job yourself and quite possibly ending up with a contract that has no feedback will not have any negative impact on you.

Negative impact to your JSS only occurs when the proportion of jobs with zero feedback is significant compared to your overall number of jobs.

I understand, but like I said I don't have any closed contract so far. I have only one contract for the past 3 years which is still active. So this will be my first review.
