Unsolicited offers from newbies

I sometimes get unsolicited offers (not invitations, actual offers). The Upwork interface has an option to reject them as "Unsolicited offer - spam". But they seem to be from people who are new to Upwork and don't know how it works, and don't realise they're supposed to send an invitation first before moving to an offer. So it feels a bit mean to mark them as spam when they meant well.

What do the rest of you do with these?

I contact them back and initiate a dialogue to see if I want to work with the client or not.

If the job is a fit, why not? I've made $ 2000 in the last 8 days from such a direct offer.
