Upwork Algorithm is flawed

Hello all,

I am Top rated freelancer in upwork and one of the most loyal to upwork since 2010. I am seeing that now-a -days i recieved almost no invites. Also the job i applied i didn't getting response which earlier i used to get in huge amounts. My collegue is getting more invites but his profile is not that great as that of mine. I feel that upwork is promoting new freelancers more than the older one. Can any of you guiys facing this. Also i request upwork forum manager to investicate this matter seriously.

Thanks

Somdeb Mukherjee

Hi Somdeb,

I checked your account and can't see any issues that would prevent your profile from showing in search. Please, note that search results depend on who is searching, for which purpose and when. They are also rotated to make sure that more freelancers have a chance to be discovered in search. That said, having a well-written profile that reflects impressive expertise and actively applying to jobs definitely helps with being discovered as well.

But i am not getting invites as well as the job i applied i am not getting response which seems something in the algo changed ,since i used to get reply earlier.

Please suggest

Thanks

Upwork is getting more competitive. You need to keep up to stay in the running. Improve your profile, your overview, your proposals.

Peter Kelton suggests Upwork review how its algorithm use is explained so that there’s some consistency in what free-lancers are told. If Upwork’s own people can’t give a consistently cohesive view of the agency’s own tools, then we not-so-humble writers are likely to continue in our ignorance. For now, in the winter of our discontent, we suggest its up to Upwork to peacefully clean up its act. --PK

Hi Peter,

I removed your other posts because it violates the Upwork Community Guidelines. Please know that spamming is not allowed in the Community.

I'm not sure if you are referring to the search alogrithm, or how the Job Success Score is calculated. But I would like to reconfirm what Valeria has stated above - freelancers are regularly rotated in search results and the order the profiles are displayed in will change every couple of weeks.
