Upwork Messaging Failures

Today I had a client pause a contract because she hasn't heard from me for a while.

 

This is odd, because I have sent her messages through Upwork that she hasn't received and that are not in the message list.

 

I and certain of my clients are also not receiving email notification from Upwork when new messages are sent to or from me.

 

Is anyone else having either of these problems?

I`m sorry about the inconvenience this had caused you and that it ended up in having your contract paused. Could you please reach out to me via PM with the contract title/ID and the specific messages you`re referring to, so that I can investigate it further? Thank you.

Would not surprise me one bit. If you subscribe to their up/down status updates via mobile, you'd get a lot of texts about something is broke on site. Makes me wonder...

That has happened sporadically throughout the roughly three years I've been on Upwork. 

The messaging system isn't reliable. As soon as I get hired, I move all communication to email and Skype.
