I have an Upwork (US) account. Do I have to open a new account if I relocate to India? What happens to my current Upwork contracts? How does the payment system work in India?

No. You are not allowed to have more than one Upwork account. If you were caught doing that then you could be suspended or terminated permanently from Upwork.

You will not create a new Upwork freelancer account. You will continue using your current account. When you relocate to India, you will change the location information in your account to reflect your new address.
