entry level jobs

Why are  "entry-level" categorized jobs asking for experience?

Also, each category should have a minimum pay scale.  People are misusing talent with meager payments for huge workloads!

Hi Shibajyoti,

We’re sorry to hear you're not seeing the value you expect in your job feed. As those projects may be of interest to other freelancers, please use filters while searching in order to exclude the ones that you’re not interested in. Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback, we'll pass this along to the appropriate team for review.

That should be Upwork's duty to maintain the filter criteria. How can I control that?

Hi Shibajyoti,

Thank you for following up. To make it easy to find the projects that match your skills, you can search for jobs in several different ways and save ones that you are interested in applying for later. Please check these help articles for more information:

Thank you,

Shibajyoti, I think your question about experience is easy to understand.

Perhaps, in the client's mind, you have to get experience before you get experience. They just redefined "entry-level." 🤭

Absolutely! it's like

"WE ARE  NOT LOOKING FOR PROFESSIONALS, BUT THE CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST 5+ YEARS OF HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE !"

OUR BUDGET FOR THE PERFECT CANDIDATE IS 3.0 to 3.5 $ PER HOUR!

A person can have five years of experience doing entry-level work.

Data entry is entry-level work.

Maybe they just mean cheap when they select entry level.

Yeah Jarrad.

If we go that way, maybe the classification should reflect that directly.

Like:

Cheap
Cheaper
Cheapest/dirt-cheap
Actually usable
