what happens if you accept an invitation to interview but don't get hired?

I got an invitation to interview for a language-speaking job and research position. My profile already states that I'm on a conversational level in that language, but they reached out to me anyway. 

Before accepting, I made sure I met all the requirements, except for the language part. I mentioned it again in my proposal that I don't fully know the language and can also have basic conversations. 

They reached out to me and tested my knowledge of the language, which I didn't do so well obviously. 

I accepted the invitation, sent  proposal, but will most likely not get the job. Will this affect my profile? I was honest about my abilities.
