How do you Query a Client that has refused to pay

I have been in upwork for about three weeks and I work as a social media manager. So, my first contract was just going well until it was time to recieve my first payment. My clieent asked me to end the job a day before my first weekly pay. I not sure how to do the query thing.

I checked but don't see any active contracts on your account. Please keep in mind we strongly suggest you do not begin any work on a project before you've been hired on a contract. In order to qualify for Upwork's Payment Protection programs, you need to have a contract with your client.
