How Do I Reopen Closed Account

in attempt to close my client account and keep the freelancer side of it, i closed my whole account! and i don't have a clue about how to get it back so please help me, thanks in advance.

PS: I'm using this fake account just to access this chat box.

If you need help restoring your account, we’ll need to ask you to confirm some private account details in order to help you. At Upwork, protecting your privacy is our priority. With this in mind, it would be best if you reach out directly to our support team so they can assist you within a private and secure channel of communication. 

 

How do I reach a human in customer support?

 

  1. Please visit Contact Support and click the 'Chat with Upwork' button.
  2. Type a question or topic and select 'Send'. The bot will find relevant Help articles for you.
  3. The chatbot will ask you to confirm if you need additional help. If you confirm that you need additional help, you will be asked to confirm the account type you need help with.
  4. From there, the support options available to you will be listed. Select either of the options to be able to contact the Upwork Support Team.

It's so difficult in reaching their customer service. I have to create another account just so I can get help from cummunity chat becuase if you don't have an active account it's like you're just a nobody. They seem not care enough since my original account is no longer active.

I'm sorry I can't even send a message. When I click your name I only see view profile and when I click view profile it gives an error: This profile is no longer available.

Hello! 

My Upwork account was locked due to my Russian residency.

When I try to log in, Upwork displays this message: We're sorry, your account has been locked because we’ve suspended operations in Russia and Belarus.

 

Recently I've relocated to Kazakhstan. Is it possible to unlock my acount?

I can see that you're posting from a newly created account. Just a gentle reminder that having multiple accounts is against ToS. Could you please click on my name and send me a PM with information about your previous account that was suspended?

Hello! 

My Upwork account was locked due to my Russian residency.

When I try to log in, Upwork displays this message: We're sorry, your account has been locked because we’ve suspended operations in Russia and Belarus.

 

I've relocated to another country years ago and I am a permanent resident here. Is it possible to unlock my acount? 

 

When I filled the appeal form, I got an email:

"We see you submitted a request to appeal an Upwork account suspension.

However, the account you submitted it for either doesn’t exist or is still active (not suspended)."

 

I also cannot reach the human support, the chat bot is not giving such an option. I had to create this account to be able to send this message.

 

Can you help?

Hello! I had previously an upwork account and email was attached to my work agency, but then I lost an access to email and now I want to restore my account as I have work history there, I went through a video confirmation and am able to verify myself with ID, and other neccessary questions

Hi everyone,

I'm a freelancer on Upwork with over 3 years of experience. I opened my account when I was living in Bulgaria, using a Yahoo email address. A year ago, I moved to Portugal and continued freelancing on Upwork. As part of my move, I got rid of my Bulgarian phone number, which was linked to my Upwork account.

Unfortunately, Yahoo blocked my email address because I hadn't logged in for over a year (I forwarded my emails to my Gmail address, so I didn't need to login :/). This means that I can no longer access my Upwork account, and I'm unable to recover it using the standard methods.

I've spoken with Yahoo, and they're unable to help me recover my account. I've also tried to recover my Bulgarian phone number, but that's also been unsuccessful.

My Upwork profile is "Top Rated Plus," and I've worked hard for three years to build it up. I can't afford to lose it.

Any idea how I recover my Upwork account? I'm happy to provide any documentation that's needed to verify my identity and ownership of the account.

Hi everyone,

I was recently locked out of my account, and the nice support representative that handled my case was unable to verify my identity. She informed me that the security team would be in touch with me to verify my identity, but it has been 5 days and I have not heard from them yet. My profile is very important to me, and I have worked hard for 3 years to build it up. I have finally reached the "top rated plus" level, and now I am locked out.

Does anyone know how I can contact the security team directly? I would be very grateful for your help.

Hi Nikola,

Sorry to bother you. I was requested by the security team to upload my passport and I received this message: "Hi Sivan,  Thank you for uploading your documents. 
Please provide us with a secure email address that you would like to use for your Upwork account. Please make sure it has not been used to Upwork before.
 Regards, Upwork Account Security". I provided the email address and since then I haven't heard back from them, it was 2 days ago. Any chance that you can help me with that? I really need access to my account to start generating some income. Many Many thanks, Sivan.
