Promblem with payment

Hi, second day trying to pay a freelancer to start a job, but still no luck. At first 3 of my cards were accepted, but when I try to make a payment, unknown error. After that, the cards are not accepted. The last time my 3 cards made a payment (after trying 10 times), the amount was withdrawn, but came back after a minute. What can be the problem?
