Hello!

I am using Arch Linux and facing the same issue since yesterday. The Upwork tracker is taking the same screenshots since it turned on.

Here's the App and machine information:-

Upwork App Version 5.8.0.24 (FE2244)

OS: Arch Linux x86_64
Kernel: 6.0.10-arch2-1
WM: xmonad
CPU: Intel i5-6300U (4) @ 3.000GHz
GPU: Intel Skylake GT2 [HD Graphics 520]

Please suggest how it can be resolved.

Thanks!

Hey Kamal, please click the "Contact Support" button. That is a very specific technical question for them. Thanks!

Hi all,

I have the same issue - on Arch Linux as well.

I was asked the same question to support team.

Still working on the solution.

I was suggested to remove Upwork all files, and reinstall the app - but it ddidn't help me.
Issue still remains.

BTW

WM: Kwin-Xorg (on Wayland it doesn't take screenshots at all)

Hi Tomasz!

Good to know it's not only me 🙂 I have also created a ticket.

Nice insight about kwin-xorg!

Same problem here, is there any place where we can track the technical issue and its resolution?

Hi Robert,

Thank you for reaching out to us. As of the moment, we don't have an active issue concerning the desktop app but we do share reports with our team to check if we have multiple reports of the same thing at a given time or if the issue is an isolated case. Do you mind sharing the OS you're using so we can include it in our report? Looking forward to your response!

Hello everybody,

It's good to know there are more of us.

In some above posts thre is a link mentioned: the link

and it is solved: Arch Linux is not supported and it is not going to be.

For now Upwork app only functions well to Debian 8, Ubuntu 16.04, Mint and Fedora 24 OS. The Upwork app works best on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS 64 bit.

To cast that on other Os-es it is like, please use Win 10 or 8 or 7 or Big Sur or Catalina.

I sent them list of packages that was changed during that "feral" update.
I know that most of the following packages are unrelated to the issue but have them all:

Same issue here, started with the recent tracker update. I've opened a ticket but just want to log the issue here too.

Running on Manjaro stable, from AUR package. First tracker issue in over two years which isn't bad at all I guess!

I am encountering this issue as well. Are you sure its solely an Arch Linux thing? Taking screenshots should be relatively standard across applications in Linux...

FYI, I have no problem with screenshots on Arch Linux. I use Upwork Beta version (5.8.0.25) though.

Maksym, thanks for the update.
I've just checked this latest beta - but no luck, no updated screenshot.

But I forgot to delete all config if it matters.
But could You tell what WM are You using? And Xorg or Wayland
