This is exciting news. Dental caries is the single most common disease in developed nations. As developing countries improve the general health of their populations, it will become number one in them as well. A drug with the ability to overcome a human's new-cell-growth resistance would, in my opinion, need to be tested in a species with a lifespan greater than a mouse's typical two years. Resistance to new cell growth is one way the body protects itself from cancers.
