How much is your hourly rate when you first started vs. now?
Is there a reason why your rate changed over the years aside from experience?

When I joined Upwork in Aug 2020 I was already freelancing on another platform and my rate there was $54/h most of the projects I got on that platform were relatively small $300-400 per project.
I noticed Upwork has client spending good money...so I was really interested in gaining some traction here I started on Upwork at $31, then after 8 months changed to $34 and a few months later changed it to my current rate of $42 in April 2022 and I plan to raise it to $50+ in December.
I may have taken a cut on the rate but work volume increased and so has the amount I earned...By mid-next year I plan to keep raising the rate and will stop at around 65-70 range and stick to that for a longer time.

When I started in 2018 as a video editor I charged $25 p/hour. Now I charge $50 an hour. I am a better video editor, but I also taught myself animation, motion graphics, sound mixing and coloring over the years.

Props Carey, on keeping growing!
I have been looking at all the adobe products saying to myself "all this is mine!"
AND "someday"~ for After Effects. But don't have a project need.

I started out 5 years ago at $50 per hour so I could bulld some Reviews.
Now I bill $225 per hour because I have 250+ high quality Reviews.
