I never go by my legal name. My email address, info on my personal website, etc. all have my nickname. After Upwork verifies my identity, will they let me change my profie name to my nickname? My legal name, Eloise, is old-fashioned, and I don't like it. I have gone by Louise since I was in college.

Common "versions" of a legal name are absolutely fine, (such as Sam for Samuel, Sasha for Alexander, Jimmy for James, Bobby or Robby for Robert and so on ) so Louise for Eloise should not be a problem.
By the way... My great-great-grandmother was a Luise and personally I think Eloise is positively "hip!"

Interesting question. I will flag your post so that a moderator can take a look and send your question to support staff. I don't think they will allow you, but sometimes they make exceptions in other rules, so never say never.
