As a freelancer on Upwork, you may encounter clients who ask you to provide your documents for verification purposes. Upwork TOS does not prohibit this practice, but we advise you to be careful when sharing your documents with clients. You should only submit your documents if you trust the client and have a clear reason for doing so. Otherwise, you may expose yourself to identity theft or fraud risks.
