Freelancer must be protected somehow!

Hello freelance world again!

I know this topic is very hot, but after last experience

i must write something about it.

In last 15 days i send proposals for 8 jobs.

Just two are finshed or closed somehow, but 6 of them still remaining in my proposal list,

Clients are not interested for their projects at all and last viewed jobs are 15 days, 8 days, 10 days before.

I recieve boosted proposals back and all other proposals are gonne?

This is disaster.

Upwork must do something about it.

Upwork must make clients somehow to have responibilty or to give back proposals to freelancer from jobs that had clients that are not interested about their projects anymore.

I am trying from the begining of this year, 2023. to get some job,

but i just loosing money on proposals.

Clients are just walking around using my time and money and dont even look at his listed job for 15 days,

and still i am loosing proposals?

I am very diaspointed.

If Upwork dont do something very quickly about it, i must go.

I am member since ELANCE exists but after all this yers

i think this freelancer platform going backwards.

Hi Emir, I understand your frustration, but clients are under no obligation to hire through Upwork when they post a job. There can be various reasons for this (circumvention being one of them), but it's a risk any of us take when applying to any job post on the platform. I'm sure we would all suggest changes to the system but that's how it is, and I think we have to accept that risk as part of our business. I'm certainly more selective about what jobs I apply to now.

I understand the risk.

Client can choose who he want to hire for his project, perfectly clear.

That is not problem.

Problem is that freelancers loosing proposals, no matter what client do after listing job.

Problem is when client is not responsive after call for freelancers to work on his project.

Freelancers will loose proposals, of course,

but NOTHING happens because client gave up from his listed project for whatever reason,

That is problem. We (freelancers) should be compensated with proposals. 

Thank for advice, i allready choosing carefully projects to apply,

i spent years on this one and platforms like this , but

rules like this i think are not fair and should be changed immidietlly.

I dont have problem for rules to stay like this only if Upwork do something about obligations

of clients when they list their project, because freelancer loosing proposals anyway.

We all are together in this game, client-freelancer, so we need to have same rights

and both sides must be protected.

We can not work without each other but now 

it seems that clients can whatever they like,

(now i have active proposal old about 25 days, and it is still ACTIVE 🙂 )

no matter what, one thing is sure and that is,

freelancer will  loose invested proposals for non existed project

on wich one nobody work and it is never realised!

My opinion.

Anyway, thanks to all and hope something will changed soon!
