Help for getting first job in Upwork

Hello Community. I am new to Upwork. This is regarding my first job here. So i sent a proposal to a fixed hour job. Client then had a chat with me regarding how the work to be done, she provided me with the files and codes, and was asking when would i get back to her. But in 'My Jobs' section nothing is showing. How should i proceed from here. Do i have to ask client to approve my proposal or something like that or my proposal is selected hence she messaged me?

Yes, they need to send an offer. If it's escrow, you might want to read about how escrow works because it's a good way to not get paid.

You look here:

Upwork -> My Jobs -> My Jobs

If the contract is not listed there, then you DO NO WORK.

It doesn't matter what the client "says" in messages.

Must see an actual contract listed before doing any work.

The client clicks a green "Hire" button, and then you are able to click an "Accept" button.
