Invoicing - Italy

Hi everyone,

As a freelancer with a VAT number, I am due to receive my first payment in a few days on my bank account, but what comes next? I flicked through hundreds of posts regarding this topic but couldn't find any clear and conclusive answer.

If anyone could just reply to these 3 questions I'd be forever grateful:

1) Do I have to issue my invoice to the client or to Upwork?

2) Do I have to include the full amount paid by the client (including Upwork fees) or the final amount I get (with Upwork fees deducted)?

3) Where can I find the Upwork billing address?

Hi Virginia,

You can find the billing address by downloading an invoice from the Reports > Transaction History page. For the rest of your questions, I suggest that you check with a local tax advisor. In case it helps, you can check this help article for more information on VAT.
