Issue with payment email adress

So I just came to know that there are two settings where I have to register my email for Billing and for Payment in Upwork. My problem is, my UpWork email adress was not matching to my Paypal email adress, does that mean that whatever I earned in my previous jobs will not reach my Paypal account? Because I obviously didn't get payed and in my "Get paid now" section, the balance is 0$ when in fact I did earn previously for what I worked for. I'm about to set my Upwork email adress now as to match my Paypal account, will I then recieve the money I earned? Or do I have to confirm some other steps? Please help.
