Many jobs for suppling crypto, are they real or scam? does upwork support this kind of jobs?

Hello everyone,

I am new freelancer here and I am seeing jobs from people saying that they are from countries not allowing crypto purchasing and they need someone to supply them, is this kind of jobs allowed and supported in Upwork? are they real or scam?

Thanks

This is a scam. The client usually does not pay. It is also a violation of the Terms of Services to send payment to a client or pay anything for them.

Just an addition to Sophie's reply:

This kind of post are no different from does old messages we used to get on our emails claiming they have an "heritage" or are looking for a "transaction"  or whatever and just needed your info and then you would get a percentage...

Tarik,

There is no legitimate project on Upwork whose primary transaction is the freelancer spending a substantial amount of money for something and then being fully reimbursed by the client.

Buying cryptocurrency on behalf of "clients" is not allowed by Upwork because it the simplest of expensive scams for unwitting freelancers.

Ha Ha Ha! Reminded about my loss of $500 with a client (a fake client). Be safe and don't invest on client who asks for buying crypto. You would get banned also for violating the rules of upwork.
