I received this email from Upwork, it is just me or all of us?
We are reaching out because you have used Your Network, Upwork’s freelancer networking feature for Top Rated Talent, which will no longer be available as of April 4, 2024. If you have an existing message thread with other freelancers, you’ll be able to continue to message each other. Starting April 4, 2024, you will no longer be able to start new message threads with other freelancers on Upwork.
Going forward, we encourage you to connect with other independent professionals on Upwork Community, where you can also find Community Groups including the Top Rated Talent Group

Makes no sense, WE ARE charged more, and have numerous issues to include live support.

Hi!
I've been gradually building a network of other freelancers (designers, SEO writers, paid media specialists, etc.) to recommend to clients after I've completed their strategy work.
I got this email for Upwork last week, and am wondering if there's a point to having a network on this platform if I'm no longer able to message with other freelancers.
"We are reaching out because you have used Your Network, Upwork’s freelancer networking feature for Top Rated Talent, which will no longer be available as of April 4, 2024. Is there something I'm misunderstanding about this change?
Thanks,
Allison

There are a lot of complaints about the feature being used to spam without any way to stop it.
It is strange. The feature has its uses. Why they didn't just add something to prevent the spam is beyond me.

Hello,
Something strange occured to me. Someone (from Germany) tried to add me to their network and the reason was that Network (Beta) is closing and that it would be best to try and build a connection before it is shut down.
So I accepted, and then for some reason, someone else (from Ukraine) messaged me and thanked me for connecting -- even though I have not accepted her invite and I was not aware that she also sent an invite.
I thought that was a red flag so I went and checked my notifications and found that both of them sent me an invite to join their network and their messages are quite similarly composed even though the sent the invite one day apart.
So I am thinking that something's trying to hack or compromise the Network (Beta) and the chat messaging system for the second person to be able to message me even if I haven't accepted the request -- moreso since the first person was the one I accepted and added to my Network.
This is quite alarming so I posted a message here to somehow make everyone aware -- including the Upwork team.
I've hidden the photos and names of the accounts in case these are real persons (freelancers), but could provide unedited screenshots to official Upwork support and their account profile URLs if needed.
FYI, I tried chatting with support but it turned out to be an AI and just kept providing me with solutions to block, report the person who messaged me and I think it's not enough so I had to post this here.
Attached are screenshots of (1) the notifications list showing two accounts tried to add me, (2) screenshots of the two accounts who tried to add me including screenshots of their similarly composed intro messages, (3) screenshot of the message sent to me by the second person, which doesn't coincide with my actual records (i.e. income).
I am curious if anyone else had the same experience.
Thanks in advance for your time and insights.
