This thread has been closed from further replies due to its size. In general, these issues occur when the transactions you’re attempting on your card keep being declined by the bank. Please contact your card-issuing bank for more information about the specific charge decline.

I have been trying to buy connects for some days now but no success and cannot upgrade my account too. The response I keep getting is sorry, a critical component of this page failed to load. Please reload the page.

Hi Anuj,

 

I checked, and it looks like the decline error was from your issuing bank. You may need to contact them to verify the decline error or use a different billing method instead. To see the options available to you, click here.

hello , I tried to buy connect to apply for jobs. But it sends me OTP for payment and after adding that OTP it is not adding connect to my account. Please fix this issue so i can buy connect and can apply for new jobs.Thanks

for international payments.

2.Try an alternate payment method.

3. Clear your web browser for cookies and try again.

Hi Kishan,

 

In order to use Paypal as a billing method on Upwork, your Paypal account must have a linked credit or debit card for recurring payments (for example, for membership fees). For cases like this, a funding source is required to add Paypal as a billing method. You may want to talk to PayPal about what type of payment method can be added to your PayPal wallet. Feel free to check the options available to you and learn more about acceptable billing methods

I’m trying to add a new card. Credit card ends with 1234. I got the response “We are unable to authorize your card. Please add another billing method or contact your issuing bank.” Please, can you look into that for me?

Please contact your card-issuing bank for more information about the specific charge decline and confirm if they allow recurring transactions on their cards as Upwork payments are classified as ‘recurring’.

 

Meantime, you can add an alternative billing method in your account payment options.

There is no option to choose PayPal as my billing method. Please, refer

Do check the billing method tab in your profile settings. If you have added
the billing method, it sometimes does not get updated. There will be an
update button if that's the problem. Click on it and then try.

Hi Gevorg,

 

You need to check with your bank for more information on why the specific charge was declined. Also, make sure the card is set up to make international payments and has sufficient funds on it to complete the funding. In the meantime, check out this help article to learn more about acceptable billing methods.

Based on your screenshot, the charge failed and you were refunded back the amount. Please check with your bank for more information on why the specific charge got declined. In the meantime, you can add an alternate billing method on this page and learn more about acceptable billing methods.
