Activity Before Profile Going Live

Hi. I signed up for Upwork yesterday and noticed that I had 20 Available Connects in my account. I immediately started applying for projects and even purchased some Additional Connects. Today I received an email from Upwork that says that my "profile is now live." Does this mean that the applications I submitted BEFORE my profile was live did not go out? I did not see any error messages when applying for projects, so my assumption is that my profile was, in fact, live yesterday before receiving today's approval email from Upwork. If my applications did not go out, why would Upwork allow me to purchase Additional Connects and use them? Thanks.

I checked this for you and all of your proposals were successfully sent. Your account was accepted yesterday while the confirmation email was sent to you today as it takes up to 24 hours for this email to be sent!

The same thing just happened with me. I made an account today and immediately started applying. But got the email of approval after 7 hours or so. Does it mean the client was unable to view my proposals? Do I need to withdraw and apply again?

Hi Olive,

 

No worries! When your profile is accepted there is only some delay in the email to be sent out. Rest assured, clients are able to see your proposals.

Generally speaking, withdrawing proposals does not return your connects. So it never makes sense to do that. But before you send more proposals, make sure your profile is error-free, which it is not, and add examples of your work in the portfolio section. Don't offer to edit a text 100 times until the client is satisfied. That is entirely too many times, if you get my drift...
