The community is full of experienced Upwork freelancers who are passionate about helping others. These users will review your profile and provide feedback based on their experience.

If you’re interested in requesting help, make sure your profile visibility is not set to “Private” and then reply below.

We’re excited to see how Community members can continue to help each other to grow!

Note: A previous version of this post was closed as the number of responses made it difficult to read and navigate. If you had not received a response yet to a request you made, please post again in this thread.

Md,

I looked through your profile and most of it looks good. There are parts of your overview/summary that I think you should remove. More specifically:

"To do this, Kindly give me a job invitation; I'll respond to your inquiry before will you hire me. You can evaluate my expertise by getting free test work."

It is frowned upon to ask clients to send job invitations; many clients are turned off by this. Also keep in mind that offering free test work often invites scammers, so be careful. My recommendation is to not offer free samples, and clients are never allowed to ask for samples or tests.

Your portfolio looks great and adds value to your profile. Also, your skills, employment history, and other areas look good.

Please help me to find my first client......

Other freelancers cannot help you find your first client; you must do that on your own.

To start, you need to complete your profile. First, correct the spelling of your title to "copywriter." Next, remove your email address; this is violation of Upwork's Terms of Service.

The best way to complete your profile is to go through the following Academy Courses and Learning Paths:

Romzanul Islam,

I recommend removing the following from your overview/summary:

"(:glowing_star:) Transforming Visions into Digital Realities: Your Expert WordPress Developer (:glowing_star:)"

"Hello there!"

Why? Because only the first two sentences of your summary are shown to clients when they search for freelancers. This means you have very little space to get their attention, and you don't want to waste space with unnecessary words and greetings.

I think you should add more items to you portfolio. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression on potential clients, and clients will expect to see more samples from a Wordpress developer.

Please review my profile. I can't crack any new job or interviews.

Md. Anisur,

Unfortunately, it has been difficult for many freelancers to get profile views, interviews, and invitations over the past year. Competition is tough, so winning new jobs can be challenging.

The good thing is, your 54% JSS has moved up to 80% since June 2023. Your summary is well-written and informative, and the other areas of your profile look good. Hopefully, things will change for the better soon, and you will win new jobs.

Good luck!

Muhammad,

I noticed the length of your overview/summary--it is long with lengthy lists, and clients rarely read long summaries. If possible, you should try to combine similar content and remove redundant content.

Also, I recommend removing the first line: "Lead Generation and List Building Specialist with 5 years of experience. This sentence is basically a repeat of your title and the sentence after it.

Next, you should remove "I'm Sohail, a Top Rated Freelancer." since your Upwork profile does not show that you are Top-Rated.

Finally, add short job descriptions to each job in your employment history. This is especially important when the jobs are highly relevant to the services you provide on Upwork.

Hello everyone,

I would like to request you to kindly take a look at my profile. It has been almost a year since I managed to secure a job, and I am seeking the help of this community to improve my profile.

Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

Wajahat,

Your profile shows plenty of work projects throughout 2023, so I'm not sure about your statement regarding jobs over the past year.

I looked through each area of your profile and I do not see much that can be improved.

A lot of freelancers—even Top-Rated and Top-Rated Plus—are still finding it difficult to get profile views, proposal views, and invitations. Keep applying for jobs that match your qualifications/skills by writing great cover letters, and hopefully you will win more jobs soon.

Thanks for the review. I'll work on the improvement of the cover letter. I hope it'll work.

Ranojit,

The first thing you should do is change your profile photo. The picture in your photo should be a close-up image of your head and shoulders that clearly shows your face. The photo cannot be a graphic, avatar, or other object. Read through Upwork's best practices for How to Choose A Good Profile Picture.

Next, add more information to your overview/summary that tells clients how you will help them meet their goals, and update your skills list with skill categories relevant to your services.

Once you make these updates, clients will have a better understanding of your services and how you can help them.

Please give feedback on my profile

Hi Mustafa,

I think your profile contains good information, but some of it will be confusing to clients. Your overview/summary talks about website reviews and audits, and email marketing, but then you speak about accounting. These skill areas are unrelated and it might be confusing to potential clients.

You already have two specialized profiles for bookkeeping/accounting and copywriting, and that is good. I recommend focusing your main profile on website audits and copywriting only. To do that, I would remove "Accountant" from the title and make the summary only focus on website reviews/audits.

Then, update your skills list to include relevant skill categories. For example, you should add Website Audit and Email Marketing. It is important to keep your skills list updated with relevant skills categories so that Upwork can match you with relevant jobs, and so your profile will appear when clients search for your skills.

Hello Festa,

The moderators provide valuable information to freelancers and moderate the Forums, but they do not review or rate freelancer profiles.

I looked through your profile and you make a decent start. Your overview/summary needs more information about your email marketing experience and how you can work with clients to understand their needs, and deliver results. Clients need to meet certain goals, so you must give them an idea of your process for writing compelling emails and why your services are better than other email marketers.

Also, you need to add a portfolio to show samples of your work. The portfolio is a chance to make a positive first impression on potential clients. If you don’t have relevant examples to add to your portfolio, you can create email marketing samples that demonstrate your skills.

Finally, capitalize the first letter of each word in your profile title; this will help it stand out: Sales Letter/Email Copywriter.

The best way to complete your profile is to go through the following Academy Courses and Learning Paths:

Abdul,

I think your profile looks good.  I do not see any huge problems or issues that would prevent a client from hiring you.

You might want to setup a project catalog. The project catalog allows you to setup a pre-packaged service that clients can buy without you sending a proposal. Due to higher than usual requests for project catalogs, reviews and approvals are taking a minimum of 10 business days. Read Get Started With Project Catalog for more information.

Hi Prakhar,

I think your profile looks good.

The only recommendations I have are minor. For example, instead of calling yourself a "technology professional," I would use your title in your overview/summary, and inform potential clients that you can help them with the list of services. For example:

I'm a Salesforce Certified Developer with hands-on experience in using Salesforce and Java to design, implement, and support technical solutions based on the Salesforce platform. I have extensive working experience on integrating Salesforce with other environments (like Quickbooks, Shopify, MindBody, Marketing cloud, AWS server, FTP/SFTP servers).

I can help you with the following:

- Analyze and review business, functional, and technical requirements

- Document and develop code according to specifications and standards

(...)

Also, add short job descriptions to each job in your employment history. This is especially important when the jobs are highly relevant to the services you provide on Upwork.

Everything else looks good. I do not see any problems or issues that would prevent a client from hiring you.
