Is it legit or a scam?

Hi guys, need help! 

I recently join the upwork and got my first job coming from fashion brand. They just randomly offer the contract, I remember that I did not apply from the job lists.

Is it common if the client ask your email to send some files but when I click the files it turns out broken file? I'm a bit sceptical if this is a scam, since I could not verify this client as I only got a company website and their social media seems like legit. Please advice. Now I'm a bit worried that my laptop will be hijacked since I already extracted and clicked the file.

Of course it is 1,000,000% a scam.

If any client suggest sending something to your private email address before starting a contract it will be a scam and you must immediately inform Upwork about it.

These people make me sick, praying on people that just want to earn some money.

Run a virus scan on your laptop, don't try and open their email again and delete their email.
