Hi, I have a few questions.

I hired a translator at work. I had previously contacted the translator by mail and he told me to get on with the job and make a $190 deposit. She also told me that she needs 9-12 days to do the translation. lhave

Thank you for reaching out to us. I checked your account and couldn't find any message or a direct contract. If you have communicated with the freelancer outside Upwork and your contract is not in Upwork, we won't be able to impose any rules on your contract.

Nonetheless, when it comes to transacting within Upwork, we highly recommend that you don't make payments outside Upwork and do not release payments unless you receive the work you ordered.
