I'm relatively new to Upwork.com and have been diligently searching for job opportunities for the past month. However, I've encountered a significant issue involving spammers when I submit proposals. To elaborate, I've noticed numerous individuals sending a large number of proposals, often leveraging the initial 50 free connects provided to new users. It appears that some of these users may be using automated methods or bots for this purpose.
The prevalence of such spammers has made it notably challenging for legitimate freelancers like myself to secure jobs on the platform. I believe that Upwork should consider enhancing its verification procedures for new freelancers. This measure is essential to establish a more comfortable and secure environment within the freelancer marketplace, ultimately benefiting both clients and freelancers alike.
