Debited Twice Upon Purchasing Connects

I purchased 12 dollars connects about 2 days ago,and you charged from my dollar account immediately,but to my surprised Upwork debited my debit card again this evening with another 12 dollars.

please what could be the cause, does this mean my debit card is not safe on upwork?, this really cause a concern as tis is very starnege to me and not encouraging as i'm new to this platform.
