How does Upwork work?

Hey y'all I am fairly new to Upwork. Love the forum to ask and receive help! With that being said, I had a few questions. I know these are prettty self explanatory but I was wondering what the definitions of "proposals" "interviews" "hires" "interviewing" and "invites sent" means?
