Identity (ID) Verification

i have trublle with Identity Verification, i live in lebanon, and the only way to verify my identity in lebanon is with passport, but i dont have passport,  is there any other way to work on this platform ?please i need help ASAP

Hi Mohamad, 

 

If you are eligible or required to receive an “Identity Verified” badge, you can complete the two stages by going to Identity Verification in your Settings.

 

You may be asked to complete a visual verification and provide a valid government-issued ID. Acceptable documents include passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria.

 

Note that we occasionally ask users to re-verify because periodic checks ensure their accounts continue to reflect accurate information. Our goal is to make this process as seamless as possible and we thank you for your contribution to keeping Upwork a professional and safe community.



If you don't see a way to verify, that may be because you're not eligible yet. Please know that verification cannot be requested, but is slowly being rolled out to all talent. If the team finds the need to verify your account, you will be notified through an email, or through a notification in your account.

Hi Pabasara,

 

I would be happy to help. I checked and it doesn't look like you are required to complete any verification process at the moment. Could you please clear your cache and cookies or try using a different browser to check if it shows on your end after this? 

If you still can see the message on your profile please share a full screenshot from your end so that we can assist you further.

Thank you for your message. As confirmed by Nikola earlier, it doesn't look like you are required to complete any verification at the moment. That said, the page/link in the screenshot will be unavailable for you at this moment. The team will let you know if there is a need for any verification in the future.

Hi, Upwork.

 

I was asked to upload my ID and it was said to get reviewed after one business day. Now, this is the 6th business day and I still haven't gotten verified. My account might get temporarily banned in the next two days. Please, I need urgent help.

Thanks, Arjay. I possess an ID with my photo, signature, date of birth, etc., but will it be eligible if my (city) address has changed since the ID was issued?

Hello, 

 

I realize you guys probably have a lot on your plate. On last notice Friday, someone said Upwork would get back to me regarding my own Government ID getting denied, claming it didn't confirm my identty. I still haven't gotten a response since opening up a ticket. I wanted to make sure this can be resolved because I'm kind of parlayzed on the platform until this is resolved.

  I have completed 100% of my Profile and now I want to verify my identity but the tab is not available in the settings.  

 

Is it due to my new account?

When will it display, verification option?

I have receive identity verification, and try to upload CNIC Card but not succeed to move toward 2nd step Visual verification it show " this should take a minute " not continue, kindly help me thanks?

Hi...I am unable to find the ID Verification link anywhere(not in Settings, where I thought it would be...). Any suggestions would be really helpful.

For some strange reason, my profile says I am a military veteran, when I am not. And it is not even letting me change the status. How can I get that changed??

Hi Arun,

 

Thank you for reaching out to us. I checked and it doesn't look like you are required to complete any verification process at the moment. Only earning freelancers are eligible/required to earn the “Identity Verified” badge. If you become eligible/required, we will notify you when you log into your Upwork account.

The same thing is happening with me. I'm Noman Ahmed but on verification page there is Muhammad Airf's name and they ask to upload Muhammad Arif's ID card insteyof mine so how can i verify my identity using my ID card with my name! Did you found any solution?
