Message page freezing and crashing in Chrome

I have a few on going projects and needed to communicate with freelancers on daily basis through message rooms at: upwork[dot]com/ab/messages/rooms 

The issue is the browser window becomes unresponsive randomly, the only solution is to close the tab and open a new tab.

This happens frequently when I press "ENTER' to send a message, the entire page freezes, cant do anything other than closing the browser, i cant even get chrome to visit another URL, it doesnt work.
